Obituary of James Persinger Sellick

James "Joe" Persinger Sellick, 60, of Gladys, VA passed away Monday, November 13, 2017 at Lynchburg General Hospital after a brief illness. Born February 16, 1957 in Alleghany County, VA, he was a son of the late Henry Wilson Sellick and Carley Persinger Sellick. Joe was a retired telecommunications linesman and a faithful member of Highland Heights Baptist Church. He enjoyed the outdoors, his pets and vintage movies. In addition to his former wife, Shirley Hailey, he is survived by three sons, Chris J. Sellick (Carissa), Jeffrey A. Sellick and Dustin L. Sellick; one brother, Joseph Sellick; two sisters, Tammy Holstein and Cathy Campbell, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Marie Tucker and a stillborn brother. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Diuguid Wiggington Road Chapel with Pastor Carl Weiser officiating. The family will receive friends immediately after the service at the funeral home.
