I was a first year nursing student in 1973 and I was assigned to Mrs. Pittman's unit 3C for my first 6 months. I was totally impressed and thought she was the "perfect nurse". I wanted to be just like her when I became a real nurse. She treated all of us new students with respect and helped us whenever she could. As I progressed through school and became a Senior, I was assigned to her unit to do my Leadership training. I was thrilled and from that moment on, I knew I'd use Mrs. Pittman as a role model. I worked with her many times in the future as an RN and always kept that respect for her. She was a caring nurse to everyone, patients, students, other nurses and doctors. Please know she made an impact in this world.

Dear family I'm so sorry for your loss. She was one of my nurses in 1983 along side Mrs. Thornhill. They took such good care of me. I was there for months and I was 19 and so scared and they helped me hold on and was so good to me and went way above just nursing. I'm known to talk about them still to this day and say God sent them to me to keep me alive. Still feel this way. May God wrap his arms around you now like he did me back then. She was very special. Prayers and love, I never stopped loving her. Betty Lou
